Consolis Swedish subsidiary, Strängbetong has made a contract with Steen & Ström to build the concrete frame of the Shopping centre Emporia in Malmö in southern Sweden. This is the largest order in Strängbetong history. It is also the largest order ever for prefabricated concrete elements in Sweden.

Strängbetong will deliver elements for altogether 171 000 m2, consisting of the shopping centre with 200 shops and around 30 restaurants and cafes, two parking houses and an office building. Producing of elements will start in October 2008. The assembly starts in January 2009 and it will be ready in April 2010. The building will be opened for public in 2011.

Emporia shopping centre will be built in the same neighbourhood as Malmo Arena, for which Strängbetong has just finished deliveries.
